BUY THIS BIKE: bit.ly/3UfSt2D Visit Their Website: Hiboy.com This is an inexpensive bike with lots of features and surprising performance! The only downside was it seems to be meant for a more petite person. We both found it to be somewhat tight in the area between the seat and handlebars. But, if it fits you, I feel you can't go wrong for the price!

Thank you for not taking off that lip. It looks so nice. Sometimes, the best pieces are the ones that you do the least amount of work on.

Would a Sorby curved hollowing tool have worked , ? Or a long bar hollowing tool with the twin grips , that you remove the tool rest and install the rectangle tool support . I think it might be called a MacGregor system., I have two Oneway curved bowl rests , one twelve inches long and one eight inches . Many power carvers use a flex shift tool with rotary rasps to brake odd shapes. A flower pot with some stone plants would be cool

That is one oddball piece from one oddball wood turner. Quite appropriate. Love the gnarly interior with the smooth outer lip. A nice contrast. Glad you went minimal. Maybe a cut glass whiskey tumbler with a votive candle?

What an epic piece, Maestro! Mother Nature is a beautiful mistress, isn't she! Gotta say I was clenching my butt cheeks watching you nibbling away at the inside... I was waiting for a nasty impact. Sanding the inside, you could have done it with a 4 1/2" vented/holed disc, cut from the outside to the holes to make it a 2" with an inch flap on the outside, which will fold up the side of your sanding pad, then just press it into the hole and let the drill do the work. Just a thought? J

PHIL!!! LANGUAGE!!! You set an all time record for personal put downs. Really, calling yourself an idiot? Nope, inappropriate. Your work on this piece was at the very highest level. So difficult! I think you did a perfect example of how I often talk about turning. I say "The finished piece is in there, your job is to listen to the wood and find it." Love the final result. I think it's a personal best for you. Medium height candle looks best to me.

Phil, you and I are in the same general age bracket, and you are not backing away from any challenge being presented to you. Age has given you strength to push your own boundaries, and we all learn from watching you give something a try that might not be comfortable to you. Not only do you take these challenges on, you create a beautiful piece that anyone would love to have in their home! Not cutting away the sides was a perfect, although difficult, choice. Please keep experimenting, and I'll keep cheering from the sidelines. It is a gorgeous piece!
